Comparing 80 countries based on criteria such as quality of education, affordability, employment, economic stability, political stability, income equality, family friendliness, public safety, and quality of healthcare, Canada is, for the 4th time, the country that offers the best quality of life in the world according to the U.S. News Best Countries 2019 ranking. In addition, Canada is also ranked second for Citizenship, and third in the Overall Best Countries category.
In another study, Mercer Quality of Living City Ranking, Canadian cities – Vancouver (3rd), Toronto (16th), Ottawa (19th), Montreal (21st) and Calgary (32nd) have came in among the top 50 cities in the world to live overall. This Mercer’s 2019 Quality of Living Survey ranked hundreds of cities around the world by looking at criteria such as recreation and housing, economic environment, political and social environment, school and education, public services and transport, among many more. In addition, this Mercer’s Survey also highlighted the global reputation of Canadian cities as safe, inclusive and affordable with strong economies as well as diverse employment prospects thus making them attractive places to study and live.
As such, it is no wonder why so many international students chose Canada as their top study destination.
